Raspberry Pi & Arduino Exploration

This month, the CoolTechGirls will be hosting an engaging session to introduce the Raspberry Pi 2 and Arduino!

Rajesh Shah, a consultant at Cardinal Health, will be leading this demonstration to have girls explore the Raspberry Pi device and discover what this new technology can offer them!

What is Raspberry Pi - 2?

The Raspberry Pi 2 is a microprocessor, a credit card sized computer enables people of all ages to explore computing, and to learn how to program in languages like Scratch and Python! It's capable of doing everything you’d expect a desktop computer to do, from browsing the internet to playing games.

What is an Arduino?:

The Arduino is a microcontroller, another minicomputer that you can program, with the ability to "sense" its surroundings and offers a chance to tinker with electronics!

During this exploratory session, the girls will be engaged in:

Introduction to Raspberry Pi - 2 (Microprocessor) and Arduino (Microcontroller)

Explore programming with Raspberry Pi

Connect to the internet, create a local website

Sound programming with Sonic Pi

Explore Wolfram Language and Mathematica bundled with Raspberry Pi

This event is free of charge but seating will be limited. Due to this limitation, seating will be based on a first come first serve policy!
